Saturdays have always been my favorite day of the week–now more so than ever. Look what the postman dropped off at my front door…

Of course, the advanced reading copies (ARCs) of my debut April release came on the day I didn’t fix my hair or wear earrings. And the woolen sweater I’m wearing? Decidedly not chic. But I don’t care! It was such an amazing feeling to hold my book in my hands. My husband and I kept thumbing through the pages, reading different passages of MY WORDS. LOL I know, I sound ridiculous. But I don’t care! :)

Do you want to know what I loved the most about receiving the ARCs? The look on my husband’s face when he read the dedication.

PS–For those of you who aren’t familiar with advanced reading copy, the ARC is a pre-publication of the final book. Publishers send the ARC to booksellers, reviewers, libraries, etc. to help create a buzz about the book prior to its release. Studios and networks do something similar for their new movies or TV series via film critiques, pre-release screenings, commercials, and trailers. ARCs feel and look a little different than the final product. They might also contain minor typographical errors, which (oddly enough) can make them collector’s items.
